Benniman given Greenlight for new 46,375 sq ft unit in Reading

Greenlight Logistics, the joint venture between Delancey and Coltham Developments, has chosen Benniman to deliver its latest industrial/warehouse development in Reading.

Greenlight Reading will see the construction of a best-in-class warehouse facility of 46,375 sq ft, including CAT A office space, and is the third project the contractor has been appointed to deliver for Greenlight in recent months.

The new unit has been designed to achieve BREEAM Outstanding and EPC A+ and will contain a range of environmentally sustainable features, including PV solar paneling.

Benniman will deliver the project in two phases. Initial works will involve demolition of redundant buildings and site clearance, followed by the construction of the new warehouse unit and associated infrastructure. The full project is scheduled for completion over a 40-week programme.

Benniman was recently appointed to deliver Greenlight Heathrow, a 41,851 sq ft logistics facility in Berkshire, and is currently on site at Greenlight Redditch, a 192,000 sq ft multi-unit industrial scheme in Worcestershire.

Tim Mills, Director at Benniman, said: “We are very pleased to further our existing relationship with Delancey and Coltham. Greenlight Reading is an exciting new addition to the Greenlight portfolio and we look forward to starting work imminently.”
