Benniman starts work at 32,000 sq ft Garretts Green Trade Park
Benniman has commenced construction at Garretts Green Trade Park in Birmingham on behalf of Coltham Developments, further strengthening the long-standing relationship between the two businesses.
The urban logistics scheme will deliver six high-quality industrial and warehouse trade units, ranging from 4,000 to 13,292 sq ft, providing more than 32,000 sq ft of new commercial space.
Sustainability is central to the development, with photovoltaic roof panels, a highly efficient thermal envelope, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure incorporated. All units are targeting BREEAM Excellent and EPC A+, with the base build designed to achieve net zero carbon in operation.
The project adds to Benniman’s growing portfolio with Coltham Developments. The contractor is also delivering three further schemes in Reading, Redditch, and Slough for Greenlight Logistics, Coltham’s joint venture with Delancey, which together total more than 280,000 sq ft.
Tim Mills, Procurement Director at Benniman said: “We’re proud to have been chosen by Coltham Developments to deliver Garretts Green Trade Park. The scheme continues our successful partnership and will see the construction of high-quality, versatile units with strong sustainability credentials.”
