Benniman completes £31m sustainable logistics scheme at Vanguard Park, Longmoor
Benniman has successfully delivered a £31 million industrial/logistics development at Vanguard Logistics Park, Longmoor, on behalf of BGO and Equation Properties.
Located on Woolmer Road, the 15-acre former Ministry of Defence site has been transformed into a prime logistics destination, providing two high-specification warehouses totalling approx. 350,000 sf.
The scheme has achieved EPC A+ and BREEAM Outstanding 98%, the second highest score ever achieved in the UK logistics market, underlining its strong sustainability credentials. Features include solar PV panels, air source heat pumps, green roofing to office, hub office, gatehouse and cycle shelters, and a total of 36 active electric vehicle charging points installed across the site.
Biodiversity enhancements have also been embedded into the design, including acid grassland maintenance to support local ecology, rain gardens and swales for surface water management, sustainable locally sourced sweet chestnut cladding, native climbers, and a striking 1,900 m² automated living green wall hit and miss around both buildings.
Steven Smith, managing director at Benniman, said: “Reaching completion at Vanguard Logistics Park is a proud moment for our team. This project demonstrates how high-quality logistics space can be delivered with sustainability and biodiversity at the forefront. Working with BGO and Equation Properties, we have built a scheme that will stand out in the market for some time to come.”
