Benniman to deliver ‘next generation’ 285,000 sq ft logistics unit at DIRFT
Benniman has been appointed by Prologis UK to deliver a ‘next generation’ cold store logistics/distribution facility at Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal (DIRFT) in Northamptonshire.
The new unit, DC11, will provide 285,000 sq ft of high-quality, cross-docked space, featuring 48 docks, 22m haunch height, tenant enhancements and external amenity areas.
Designed to industry-leading sustainability standards, the scheme will target EPC A+, BREEAM Outstanding and be net zero carbon in construction.
DC11 forms part of Prologis RFI DIRFT, a well-established logistics park, and follows Benniman’s earlier appointment to deliver the 217,785 sq ft DC8 unit on the same estate.
Steven Smith, managing director of Benniman, said that the two projects further strengthen the contractor’s relationship with Prologis, having delivered more than 1 million sq ft of development including at Prologis Apex Park, Prologis Park Ryton and Prologis Park Wellingborough West.
He said: “We’re proud to be entrusted once again by Prologis to deliver a major logistics facility at DIRFT. DC11 showcases the combined focus we place on innovation, build quality and sustainability and reflects the strength of our collaborative relationship.”
